A Little About Us

Welcome to Carolina Bear Lodge! Carolina Bear Lodge was formed in 1994 by a group of hairy and masculine guys who thought themselves to not fit in with the normal gay groups. The first meeting was in Charlotte, NC.

CBL was formed to give the bear community a place to call their own and a means to socialize in an accepting environment. It gives all the opportunity to fellowship as members of an organized group of men.

CBL covers all of North and South Carolina but is open to anyone out of that area as well.

Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of Carolina Bear Lodge to provide opportunities for its members to socialize in a safe hospitable setting, to project a positive image and increase awareness of the bear subculture: and to contribute to the betterment of the gay community and society as a whole. The Board and membership of Carolina Bear Lodge recognizes and supports the great diversity within the bear community. We also feel that it is important to present a positive image to the gay community and the community at large. For this reason the members and guests should be cognizant of the sensibilities of others.

Welcome Bears,

On Behalf of the Bear Hunt Committee and the BOD of Carolina Bear Lodge, I bid thee "welcome Brave Knights" as we raise the flags and unfurl the banners of our quest for fun, frivolity, and the service of our fellow bears. Join other brother bears from lands near and far as we strive to make this gathering one of the best for the year of our Lord 2012.

Please review our schedule of events, the accomodations of our award winning host hotel: The Best Western Plus "Carolinian" Beach Resort, centrally located in the heart of the Grand Strand. Consider the multiple varieties of experience for all tastes of bears, cubs, chubs and their admirers and like minded men. Our last gathering brought together one of the most diverse groups of men of all ages, types, and interests we think we have ever attended a Bear Hunt Event.

This year your hosts, the Lords of the Bearwood, have taken an oath to provide the most sumptuous foods, spirits, and entertainments possible at this emmense gathering. So, as we gather under the bear colors, we send out a challenge to all those that can answer the call from the Bear Kingdoms near and far....please raise your cup as we unite and take a vow to battle prejudice, bigotry, bullying, and boredom in support of the CRUSADE Charities..."ALL BEARS UNITED UNDER ONE FLAG"
