Welcome to the Carolina Bear Lodge Website!

A Little About Us

Welcome to Carolina Bear Lodge! Carolina Bear Lodge was formed in 1994 by a group of hairy and masculine guys who thought themselves to not fit in with the normal gay groups. The first meeting was in Charlotte, NC.

CBL was formed to give the bear community a place to call their own and a means to socialize in an accepting environment. It gives all the opportunity to fellowship as members of an organized group of men.

CBL covers all of North and South Carolina but is open to anyone out of that area as well.

Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of Carolina Bear Lodge to provide opportunities for its members to socialize in a safe hospitable setting, to project a positive image and increase awareness of the bear subculture: and to contribute to the betterment of the gay community and society as a whole. The Board and membership of Carolina Bear Lodge recognizes and supports the great diversity within the bear community. We also feel that it is important to present a positive image to the gay community and the community at large. For this reason the members and guests should be cognizant of the sensibilities of others.

The CBL Bear Retreat will be August 23-25, 2013, in Bryson City, N.C.
It is $20 for members and $30 for guests.

Submitting information for the CBL Website...

I am always looking for more CBL information for our website. If you have some information about CBL events, pictures from past events to post in our gallery, or other "Bear" related information and activities please let me know. You may email me at webmaster@carolinabears.org. No event/information is too small or too big and it doesn't hurt to copy beartracks@carolinabears.org so the information can be placed in our newsletter as well.

Submitting information for Bear Tracks (CBL Newsletter)...

Along with infromation for our website we also need information for Bear Tracks, our Newsletter. Jonathan does a great job with our newsletter but he is always looking for more content and advertisers. If you have some information about CBL events or some other type of information that needs to be shown in our newsletter please email Jonathan Butler at beartracks@carolinabears.org. No event/information is too small or too big and it doesn't hurt to copy webmaster@carolinabears.org so the information can be placed on our website as well.

Please visit our New Membership Page for more information and if you like download the new membership application.  Then you can either mail a check in with your application or pay with Paypal and write your Paypal transaction# on your application.
